Glasgow born designer Carol Wiseman achieved her MA in Fashion from the prestigious Central Saint Martins, where she specialised in Jewellery for Fashion. Prior to this she graduated from Glasgow School of Art with BA (Hons) in Silversmithing & Jewellery, where she received an award for innovative design, for her final collection.
Using her jewellery knowledge and technical skills gained since her initial training at Glasgow School of Art, and combining this with her background and experience in the fashion industry, Wiseman’s work focuses on designing and creating eye-catching pieces for the body, within a fashion context.
From jewellery & accessories, to masks, harnesses & conceptual body pieces, she continues to work on showpieces for the catwalk, press and for editorial. And now, September 2013 sees the launch of her solo debut women’s jewellery collection.
Collaborations and collections for fashion designers include Danielle Scutt, Julien Macdonald, Gharani Strok, Louise Goldin, Avsh Alom Gur and Miki Fukai. Along with her role as a jewellery designer for the design collective House of Blueeyes.
Crossing boundaries between jewellery, accessories and fashion, whilst combining fine craftsmanship with traditional jewellery materials and skills, Wiseman continues to challenge the craft by creating bold pieces to adorn the body. Working with a wide range of precious and semi-precious materials from silver, gold and bronze, to precious & semi-precious stones, and also to leather, acrylic & ceramics.
Carol remains unrestricted in her sense of applying jewellery and accessories, by continuing to create pieces across the board, from fashion showpieces to bespoke commissions.
